Special Days in Holy Week

Holy Week is the week before Easter, (Easter is the oldest and the most important Christian Festival, the celebration of the death and coming to life again of Jesus Christ) It is observed in many Christian churches as a time to commemorate the suffering and death of Jesus Christ who died at the cross to save us from sin. It begins on Palm Sunday and ends on Easter Monday.

Palm Sunday (The date for Palm Sunday in 2009 is 5th April.)
The day Jesus arrived in Jerusalem. This Sunday observes the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem that was marked by the crowds, who were in Jerusalem for Passover, waving palm branches and proclaiming Him as the king.
(Mark 11:11).

Maundy Thursday (Holy Thursday
) Last Supper and the betrayal by Judas.
(The date for Holy Thursday in 2009 is 9th April.)
Commemorates the Last Supper of Jesus Christ with the Apostles in which He offers His body and blood. (Mark 14:1-72)(Mark 14:10)
And His commandment :
'This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.' John 15:12

Good Friday (Holy Friday)
, the arrest, trial, crucifixion, death and burial of Jesus Christ.
