On its 112 yrs of Independence

12 June 2010- on its 112 years commemoration of Philippine Independence.

The national flag symbolizes the Coountry and The Philippine flag was designed with:
white equilateral triangle (five pointed stars at each angle of the triangle. Upper stripe of blue and lower of red.
White triangle-signifies Filipino hope for equality.
Sun- stands for liberty
Sunburst of eight layers- first eight provinces to take up arms against Spain
1.) Manila
2.) Bulacan
3.) Pangasinan
4.) Tarlac
5.) Nueva Ecija
6.) Laguna
7.) Cavite and
8.) Batangas
The 3 stars -signifies the 3 island group of the Philippines.
Blue color –Stands for peace, truth and justice
Red color –Stands for patriotism and valor

During the unfurling, the music band of San Francisco de Malabon played for the first time the Marcha Nacional Filipina, composed by Julian Felipe (Filipino teacher and composer of the national anthem “Lupang Hinirang” born in Kawit, Cavite on June 28, 1961). Later, the poem “ Filipinas” the young poet Soldier Jose Palma became the lyrics of the anthem.
Let us be proud to be a "Filipino".

Lent is the season of reflection, prayers and repentance. This is the time to confess to HIM our sins and that we have become too comfortable with the pleasures of our life on earth.

Eid Mubarak

Definition: A phrase of greetings said among Muslims to congratulate each other on holidays. It literally means, "Blessed Festival!" The appropriate answer is, "Allah yubarak feek!" (May Allah bless it for you also!)

Philippine Independence 2009 on its 111 yrs

Welcome to the 111’s independence day celebration. Current President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo celebrated the independence in Koronadal South Cotabato for the first time.
Each place celebrates the independence in there own ways and as to commemorates the declaration or our independence from the colonial rule of Spain.
It was June 12, 1898 when Philippine independence was proclaimed in Kawit, Cavite. Philippine National Anthem publicly played & Philippine National flag raised.
The Philippine National flag was hand sewn by Marcela Marino Agoncillo with the help of Daughter Lorenza and Delfina Herbosa Natividad (niece of Dr. Jose Salvador Natividad).

Special Days in Holy Week

Holy Week is the week before Easter, (Easter is the oldest and the most important Christian Festival, the celebration of the death and coming to life again of Jesus Christ) It is observed in many Christian churches as a time to commemorate the suffering and death of Jesus Christ who died at the cross to save us from sin. It begins on Palm Sunday and ends on Easter Monday.

Palm Sunday (The date for Palm Sunday in 2009 is 5th April.)
The day Jesus arrived in Jerusalem. This Sunday observes the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem that was marked by the crowds, who were in Jerusalem for Passover, waving palm branches and proclaiming Him as the king.
(Mark 11:11).

Maundy Thursday (Holy Thursday
) Last Supper and the betrayal by Judas.
(The date for Holy Thursday in 2009 is 9th April.)
Commemorates the Last Supper of Jesus Christ with the Apostles in which He offers His body and blood. (Mark 14:1-72)(Mark 14:10)
And His commandment :
'This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.' John 15:12

Good Friday (Holy Friday)
, the arrest, trial, crucifixion, death and burial of Jesus Christ.
(The date for Good Friday in 2009 is 10th April.)
